The PGA Championship 2016 that was hosted last weekend was conspicuous with Tiger Wood’s absence.
This is probably the first time in his career that he has been missing out on the major tournaments in golf. This major tournament continued without Tiger’s participation this year, which was a first since 1994. However, this came as no surprise to the golf world. The Baltusrol Golf Club stated that they had gotten in touch with the agent of Tiger Woods. He had confirmed that he would not be participating in this year’s championship event. Tiger Woods is considered to be the four time PGA champion. The latest championship event that was held was the 98th one.
This season, Woods has been missing out most of the major events and this marks the first of the PGA Championship. He has won a total of 14 major tournaments spanning his career. This year he would be missing four major events which are considered prestigious titles in the golf world. He has been suffering injuries which have forced him and prevented him from participating in two straight major events. (more…)
The highly anticipated John Daly-Adam Scott golf comedy program produced by, Jon Daly and Adam Scott and ahem is just a week away.
Adult Swim unveiled the 1st look at the television special. It seems that actor Scott is not even trying the golfer Scott’s Aussie accent
, even though props to comedian Daly for captivating Long John’s cadence and look.
Of course, this TV series is happening in the year 1966, fourteen years before golfer Scott was even born. Therefore, probably they should not be too pertained with genuineness. Adult Swim Golf Classic will air on 8th April, at 11:30 pm.

Augusta National is famous for its green ambience- ranging from the jackets to the course rolling into the fairways. Everything is green about it, be it picturesque green or glorious green or luscious green.
The Augusta course has always been able to impress the golfers here as well. However, amidst all the eulogies, there have been some grumbling regarding the Masters course. According to some of the most notable players offended with the course is Tiger Woods himself. The offended players are disappointed about fairways- where turf lushness & club’s decision regarding mowing grass back to tees have produced lies which aren’t exactly perfect.
Woods has voiced his discontent quite publicly in the last few days. He is offended that the Masters organizers haven’t used sub-air systems much, despite their installation few years back. Had they used the sub-air systems, it would have helped to dry the greens better.
“That would firmed up the greens better”, remarked the former world # 1.
“Or they (the organizers) can live like it & we can go there & make a number of birdies.”
The current world # 1 echoes a similar opinion, matched up with the former numero uno golfer. Akin to Woods, Rory McIlroy too has spoken in public about his dissatisfaction regarding the Augusta course. (more…)
Legendary American golfer Arnold Palmer has said that the only thing that 14 time major winner Tiger Woods needs to do to get back to his absolute best is to play without fear – get back the confidence and swagger as well as the fearlessness he had at the beginning of his career.
Palmer was speaking before tee off of the Arnold Palmer Invitational last week at the Bay Hill golf course while Woods was preparing to mount yet another comeback to the sport after a brief sabbatical at the Masters next month. Palmer said that Woods needs to practice and practice and get back his early confidence.
He still feels Woods is far from the finished article as a professional golfer and believes there is still a lot more to come from him. Palmer also backed Woods’s decision to take a brief break from the sport , even though it meant that he wouldn’t be able to compete at his event where he is a former champion, having won the title eight times.
